His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah AlAhmad AlJaber AlSabah patronized on Tuesday the inauguration of the 2018 Global Informatics’ Forum at Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST). His Highness deputized Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah AlMubarak AlSabah, deputy minister for Amiri Diwan affairs, to attend the event.
In a speech, Sheikh Mohammad AlAbdullah said the Forum mirrors His Highness the Amir’s vision to turn Kuwait into a highly advanced technological hub, as well as a regional financial and commercial one.
A wide platform; that what this Forum is, where the world elite in digitization of finance meet, he pointed out. On his part, GUST Deputy Chairman for Academic Affairs Dr. Salah AlSharhan said the Forum would prepare Kuwait to be at the center of global digitization and a pedestal for launching scientific breakthroughs; the cornerstones of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), which is characterized by a fusion of technologies of cyberphysical systems.
Hassan AlHamadi, member of the Forum’s organizing committee, said in another speech that the business and finance sector has a major impact on the society’s economics and vibrancy. The Forum’s theme of ‘digitization and economic change’ sheds light on digital technologies in the business sector, as well as startups.
