The demand for travel to Saudi Arabia on weekends witnessed a big turnout among citizens especially those wishing to perform Umrah.

Tourism expert Kamal Kabsha told Al-Anba the repercussions of the spread of the Corona virus during the previous two years and the accompanying suspension of travel movement, in addition to the controls imposed on the performance religious rites at the holy sites was the reason for the high demand to perform Umrah during the last period.

Kabsha pointed out many citizens who were scheduled to perform Umrah on certain dates, had to change their dates during the past weeks, especially with the emergence of Omicron, for fear of any new measures that might be taken in future that would prevent them from performing their rites.

Kabsha pointed out that the ‘weekend’ Umrah package costs between 150 and 250 dinars for 3 to 4 days, including accommodation in 4 or 5-star hotels and transportation to and from Kuwait to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
