New subsidies for palm trees, milk, cattle, and fodder announced

The decision to disburse support for Barhi, Ikhlas, Sakri Majdool, Umm Al-Dahn, Nabut Saif for the fiscal year 2023-2024 stipulates a payment of 1.5 dinars per tree.

  • The support consists of cash totaling 150 dinars per calf, disbursed in two installments. The first installment of 60 dinars is provided when the calf reaches nine months of age, and the second installment of 90 dinars is provided when the calf reaches 18 months of age.

The Director General of the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources has announced a series of decisions to support fruitful palm trees, milk production, locally-bred calves, and livestock feed, according to Al Rai newspaper.

The decision to disburse support for fruitful palm trees of the varieties (Barhi, Ikhlas, Sakri Majdool, Umm Al-Dahn, Nabut Saif) for the fiscal year 2023-2024 stipulates a payment of 1.5 dinars per tree, in accordance with the applicable regulations.

Support payments will be halted if there are violations of the relevant laws, regulations, or decisions. Payments will only be resumed once the violations are rectified, provided that this is done before the end of the fiscal year specified in the decision.

Support for fresh milk

The Director of the Authority’s decision also includes support for fresh milk from agricultural holdings that raise cows in the Sulaibiya area and those with licenses for auxiliary animal production ‘raising cows’, provided they meet technical and health conditions and supply raw milk to licensed Kuwaiti dairy companies and factories, according to the authority’s regulations.

The decision specifies financial support of 80 fils per liter of fresh milk produced by these holdings, which must be delivered to Kuwaiti companies and factories that manufacture dairy products, and comply with Kuwaiti standards and specifications for raw milk.

Support for locally born, raised calves

The decisions also include support for locally born and raised calves for owners of holdings designated for raising cows in the Sulaibiya area and those with licenses for auxiliary animal production, provided they meet technical and health conditions and supply milk to licensed local Kuwaiti dairy companies, according to the authority’s regulations.

The support consists of cash totaling 150 dinars per calf, disbursed in two installments. The first installment of 60 dinars is provided when the calf reaches nine months of age, and the second installment of 90 dinars is provided when the calf reaches 18 months of age.

Feed support

Another decision stipulated the disbursement of feed support to livestock breeders according to the approved budget for the fiscal year 2024-2025, in line with the controls, conditions, and categories specified.

The support includes 50 kg of barley for 1.6 dinars, 50 kg of corn for 700 fils, 50 kg of bran for 350 fils, 30 kg of feed for sheep for 350 fils, 30 kg of feed for dairy cows for 350 fils, 30 kg of feed for camels for 350 fils, and 30 kg of feed for fattening for 350 fils.
