Minister of Public Works and State Minister for Municipal Affairs, Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, has expressed unwavering support for the civil aviation sector. She views it as a cornerstone for propelling economic growth.
Following a regular meeting with key government agencies overseeing the T2 project, Minister Al-Mashaan reaffirmed the government’s dedication to the project’s success.
The meeting, attended by the Director-General of Civil Aviation, Sheikh Hamad Al-Mubarak, and representatives from various government departments, was focused on identifying and overcoming challenges to accelerate progress, reports Al-Anba newspaper.
Dr. Al-Mashaan emphasized the critical role of interagency collaboration. “Effective cooperation is essential to ensure the project is completed on schedule,” she stated.
Recognizing potential hurdles such as traffic congestion and cybersecurity threats, the minister stressed the importance of a united front in addressing these issues.
To streamline the project, Minister Al-Mashaan outlined several key areas of focus. Coordinating with the Civil Aviation Authority to relocate security barriers, secure land for waste disposal, and expedite the approval of subcontractors for aircraft fueling systems in collaboration with KAFCO were among the priorities.
Moreover, she highlighted the need for close cooperation with the Kuwait Oil Company to resolve potential conflicts and determine the optimal route for the new airport road.
Cybersecurity is a top priority for the project. Dr. Al-Mashaan revealed that workshops are being conducted in partnership with the National Cybersecurity Center to meticulously verify the security specifications outlined in the contract.
“Safeguarding sensitive information is paramount,” she emphasized, underscoring the government’s commitment to a secure digital environment.
