NCCAL concludes 17th summer cultural festival with ‘Night of the Sahara’

The National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) concluded the 17th edition of the Summer Cultural Festival on Friday evening with the grand “Night of the Sahara” concert at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center.
The event marked the culmination of a festival that ran from July 9 to August 29, 2025, featuring a wide range of cultural and artistic activities.

In his opening remarks, Secretary-General Dr. Mohammed Al-Jassar highlighted the festival’s diversity, which included theater performances, art workshops, literature sessions, and musical nights. He emphasized that the events were designed to cater to all age groups, combining education, culture, and entertainment, reports Al-Rai daily.
Dr. Al-Jassar expressed heartfelt gratitude to the festival audience, stating, “You are the beating heart of every cultural event. Your passion ensures that our cultural journey continues.” He also thanked artists, lecturers, participants, and work teams for their contributions to the festival’s success.

The closing ceremony featured performances by prominent Kuwaiti artists including Faisal Al-Saad, Fawaz Al-Marzouq, Khaled Al-Masoud, and Ghanima, accompanied by a distinguished musical band led by Maestro Rashid Al-Nuwaishir. International acts also participated, including the Ibrahim Talis String Band from Turkey and the Al-Kambo Band from Egypt, performing selections of iconic Kuwaiti songs.
The festival once again demonstrated Kuwait’s commitment to promoting arts, culture, and community engagement, leaving attendees with memorable experiences and reinforcing NCCAL’s role in nurturing the country’s cultural landscape.
