Kuwait intensifies anti-corruption drive with high-level coordination

The Public Authority for Combating Corruption (Nazaha) has reinforced its coordination with the Financial Investigations Unit during an official meeting aimed at advancing joint efforts to combat corruption and safeguard public funds.

Nazaha said in a statement that its President, Dr. Rana Al-Fares, and Vice-President Dr. Majed Al-Daihani, along with members of the Board of Directors, received the Head of the Financial Investigations Unit, Dr. Hamad Khaled Al-Makrad, his deputy Yousef Al-Omar, and Director of Legal Affairs Dr. Mohammed Al-Ajmi. The visit reflected the strength of institutional cooperation between the two bodies.

The meeting comes in line with directives issued by His Highness the Amir, calling for firm action to eradicate corruption, eliminate its sources, and entrench the principles of integrity and transparency across government operations, reports Al-Rai daily.

Discussions focused on enhancing coordination frameworks, strengthening integration between relevant entities, and expanding cooperation in tracking and analyzing suspicious financial activities.

Both sides also explored mechanisms for exchanging expertise and information to reinforce governance systems and protect public resources.

Al-Fares reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to its national mandate, emphasizing continued coordination with strategic partners and the importance of unified institutional efforts to achieve the highest standards of integrity and transparency.

For his part, Al-Makrad expressed pride in the existing level of cooperation, underscoring the Financial Investigations Unit’s commitment to further strengthening its partnership with Nazaha in support of national anti-corruption efforts.
