‘National Council for Culture and Arts’ celebrates Kuwait’s national holidays in Washington

In celebration of Kuwait’s National Day and Liberation Day, the Embassy of Kuwait in the United States, in collaboration with the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters, hosted a vibrant musical evening titled “Renditions on a Friendship.”

The evening came to life with a mesmerizing performance by the Kuwaiti National Orchestra, accompanied by American orchestra musicians, under the direction of Maestro Dr. Mohammed Al-Buaijan. Held at the prestigious Terrace Theater of the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., the event was held under the patronage of the Ambassador of Kuwait to the United States, Sheikha Al-Zain Al-Sabah.

The event was graced by the presence of esteemed guests, including the Secretary-General of the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters, Dr. Mohammed Al-Jassar, Sheikh Mubarak Al-Jaber, Director-General of the Joint Programs Foundation for the GCC States, Assistant Secretary-General for the Arts Sector, Musaed Mohammed Al-Zamil, as well as a distinguished gathering of diplomatic and cultural figures.

Spirit of Friendship and Cooperation

The evening beautifully showcased the depth of Kuwaiti-American relations through a rich cultural and artistic exchange. The performance seamlessly blended the essence of Kuwait’s authentic identity with the sophistication of professional global artistry, creating a harmonious fusion that reflected the spirit of friendship and cooperation between the two nations.

Documentary Film and Exhibition

As part of the evening’s festivities, the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters presented a short documentary film directed by Dr. Ali Hassan, highlighting key humanitarian and diplomatic milestones in Kuwaiti-American relations. Additionally, researcher Fahad Ghazi Al-Abduljalil curated a special exhibition showcasing rare historical Kuwaiti-American artifacts, offering attendees a glimpse into the deep-rooted ties between the two nations.

Bridges of Friendship

The evening was a testament to Kuwait’s commitment to strengthening its international relations through soft power, fostering cultural ties, and building bridges of friendship between the Kuwaiti and American peoples. By showcasing Kuwait’s rich cultural and artistic identity, the event reinforced the deep-rooted bilateral relations between the two nations and highlighted the importance of cultural diplomacy in bringing communities together.

The delegation was led by the Secretary-General of the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters, Dr. Mohammed Al-Jassar, and comprised key representatives from various sectors. Among them were Assistant Secretary-General for the Arts Sector, Musaed Mohammed Al-Zamel; Media and Public Relations Supervisor, Shurooq Saleh Al-Qafas; Sarah Khalaf Ibrahim from the Arts Sector; Fahd Ali Al-Najadah from the Finance Sector; Aisha Khaled Mubarak from the Culture Sector; and Khaled Abdullah Al-Ali from the Engineering Sector.
