Nasser Al-Sabah Mosque… a Belgian masterpiece in Ras Al-Salmiya

In its eighth consecutive publication, the European Union continues to highlight European architectural influences that have left their mark on Kuwait, this time taking the reader on a journey to an architectural masterpiece that has become part of the country’s identity.
In a post on its X account Sunday, the European Union delegation to Kuwait wrote that Belgian architect Henri Montois designed the famous Sheikh Nasser Al-Sabah Mosque in Ras Al-Salmiya in 1981, Al-Jarida reports.
The post added that “the striking shape of the building is a unique example of modern Islamic architecture in Kuwait.” The post included a photo of the Al-Umma Mosque with the caption: ‘A Belgian touch on the architecture of Sheikh Nasser Al-Sabah Mosque in Salmiya.”
