Municipality reports sharp decline in safety violations, land encroachments

The Kuwait Municipality has announced a notable decrease in safety violations and encroachments on state property, following an extensive three-week field inspection campaign carried out across all six governorates.

Mohammed Al-Duwaihees, head of the Ahmadi Governorate tour team, told KUNA that the campaign aimed to increase compliance with defacement and safety regulations, remove unauthorized structures, and take swift action against violators, reports Al-Rai daily.

As part of the campaign, field visits were conducted in areas such as Fintas and Abu Halifa, where two violations were recorded due to non-compliance with municipal regulations and safety protocols.

Al-Duwaihees emphasized the municipality’s ongoing efforts to enforce regulatory measures, stating that inspection teams will continue to act decisively to ensure adherence to established rules and procedures.

He pointed out that many safety violations—particularly the lack of personal protective equipment and absence of helmets at work sites—stem from low worker awareness regarding the importance of such measures for occupational safety.

He called on all entities to respect Kuwait Municipality’s laws, highlighting that inspection teams across all governorates remain committed to executing field campaigns that uphold public safety and municipal standards.
