Municipality organizes field campaign to monitor demolition safety across governorates

The Public Relations Department of Kuwait Municipality has announced the introduction of a field inspection campaign by safety departments across all six governorates to monitor compliance with requirements governing building demolition works of all types.
The campaign aims to ensure adherence to regulations and systems related to demolition procedures for private residential, investment, commercial, and industrial properties.
It also focuses on verifying that demolition activities are carried out by qualified contractors and in accordance with approved mechanisms for issuing demolition permits, reports Al-Rai daily.
The municipality stressed that the campaign, carried out by safety management teams supported by national engineering staff, seeks to activate the supervisory role of these departments.
The inspections are intended to ensure compliance with demolition requirements, monitor procedures followed during demolition operations, and confirm effective on-site supervision by safety management engineers.
The campaign also includes classifying demolition contractors, taking all necessary regulatory measures against violators, and enforcing compliance with safety rules and systems.
In this context, the Director of the Safety Department at the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate Municipality branch, Engineer Salah Al-Rashidi, said that a recent field tour by the department’s supervisory team resulted in the inspection of four properties undergoing demolition.
He noted that all inspected sites were found to be compliant with safety requirements and in possession of valid demolition licenses, thereby reducing the risk of accidents and ensuring public safety.
