Municipality forms joint committee to look into desert camping complaints

Faisal Al-Otaibi, head of the Municipality’s Spring Camping Committee, announced the establishment of a joint committee comprising members from relevant government institutions to process and resolve complaints during the desert camping season.
Al-Otaibi said that the municipality will receive complaints through the hotline 139, in addition to fielding reports at its branches in Al-Jahra and Al-Ahmadi governorates, reports Al-Rai daily.
He stressed that municipal inspection teams will remove any unlicensed camps and issue violations, noting that only holders of valid camping permits are entitled to use designated sites.
Al-Otaibi revealed that the first day of spring camp reservations—yesterday, Saturday—recorded 570 permits issued across the northern and southern regions.
He added that bookings were completed through the municipality’s official website, following payment of a KD 50 license fee and a KD 100 insurance fee, noting that the camping season will continue until March 15.
