Municipality cuts power supply to five properties

The Kuwait Municipality has announced that power has been cut off to five properties in the residential areas of Rumaithiya, Salwa, and Salmiya, as part of an ongoing campaign to enforce housing regulations.
According to the Municipality’s Public Relations Department, the action followed field visits by inspection teams from the Engineering Audit and Follow-Up Department in Hawalli Governorate, conducted in cooperation with the Ministry of Electricity and the Ministry of Interior, reports Al-Rai daily.
The visits are being carried out based on a pre-approved schedule designed to address violations of residential zoning laws, particularly those who violate accommodation laws.
The Municipality reiterated that housing bachelors in private residential areas is prohibited by law. It urged citizens and residents to assist by reporting violations through the following channels — Hotline: 139; WhatsApp: 24727732 and Written complaints submitted directly to the director of the local municipality branch.
These efforts are part of a broader initiative to preserve the residential character of neighborhoods and ensure public safety and urban order.
