Municipality collects 5,000 bags of waste from island beaches in summer campaign

‘Our Beaches Are Beautiful’ campaign sees massive community effort in cleaning islands; authorities urge citizens, residents to take responsibility to protect marine wildlife and tourist beaches

Kuwait Municipality has announced that 5,000 bags of waste have been from the beaches of Kuwait’s islands as part of the “Our Beaches Are Beautiful” awareness campaign which was launched at the beginning of summer.

The aim of the campaign was to encourage community participation in maintaining the cleanliness of the marine environment.

The municipality explained that sanitation workers are exerting extraordinary efforts to remove waste dumped on beaches, which violates public sanitation regulations.

Citizens and visitors are urged to take social responsibility by collecting their own waste, placing it in designated containers, and easing the burden on sanitation teams.

The authorities emphasized that banning littering helps preserve the cleanliness of the marine islands, which serve as important tourist and health destinations.

These natural resources, blessed with beautiful beaches, are accessible to all, and protecting them from pollution is a national responsibility.

Proper waste management also limits harm to wildlife in the waters of the Arabian Gulf, ensuring that these islands remain safe and enjoyable for everyone.
