Municipality begins issuing eviction notices for Enjaz Market

Forced eviction and legal action await violators

Following directives issued by the Director General of Kuwait Municipality, Engineer Manal Al-Asfour, to vacate the “Braih Salem” and “Enjaz” markets of kiosks operating on their sites, the Capital Governorate Municipality Branch has begun implementing the decision, giving occupants a maximum period of seven days to evacuate from the date of notification.

The Director of the Capital Governorate Municipality Branch, Mohammed Al-Mutairi, told Al-Rai that the competent departments have already started issuing official warnings to all shop occupants at the Enjaz Market, in line with the decision.

Al-Mutairi explained that the evacuation deadline does not exceed seven days from the date of notification, noting that the legal basis for occupancy has expired following the end of the contract with the investing company.

He stressed that failure to comply within the specified period will result in the municipality carrying out the evacuation by force in coordination with the relevant authorities, and taking legal action against violators.

Al-Mutairi added that continued occupation of the site will be considered an encroachment on state property without legal basis, emphasizing that the municipality will not be lenient in enforcing the decision.

He underlined the municipality’s commitment to preserving public funds and ensuring full compliance with laws and regulations governing the use of state property.
