Municipality approves new regulations for spring camps

The new camping regulations will enable SMEs to earn better economic returns by applying for designated spots to sell their products.

The Kuwait Municipal Council has approved new regulations for the spring camping season, in its main session today, Monday, comprising of 23 articles. The regulation will allow establishment of camps for individuals, cooperative societies, civil clubs, and public benefit societies.

Furthermore, during a speech by the Council Member, Fahd Al-Abduljader stressed that that the regulation has opened a new window for small and medium enterprises. He also addressed that the legislative shortcomings that existed previously, will now be put within proper framework ensuring camping activities are better organized, sustainable and effective.

In addition, Al-Abduljader further noted that the new regulations will enable small and medium enterprises to benefit economically from the spring camping season. Moreover, entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to apply for designated spots to sell their products in the desert.

Al-Abduljader pointed out that the regulations are diverse, calling for their urgent implementation in the current camping season, which will begin from next Friday, November 15.

More importantly, Al-Abduljader noted that the Municipal Council approved the Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs, Abdul Latif Al-Mishari’s objection to the second clause of the Council’s decision in the last session. This clause involved the Municipality’s request for the Projects Sector to allocate land in North Mutlaa for the Desert Adventures Area project.

In conclusion, Al-Abduljader explained that Minister Abdul Latif Al-Mishari, in his letter to the Chairman of the Municipal Council, expressed objection to the allocation of the Desert Adventures Area project in North Mutlaa. As it violated one of the articles of the special resolution on the powers assigned to the Municipality, which is in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 33 of 2016.
