Municipality acts to preserve public lands with targeted clean-up campaign

In line with its commitment to protect state property, the Kuwait Municipality has initiated wide-ranging campaigns targeting illegal encroachments in open areas.
The campaign, led by Yousef Al-Fajji, head of the Kuwait Municipality’s team said, this involves a phased plan focusing initially on illegal constructions such as rest houses and private buildings. The Municipality also confirmed it will take into consideration legitimate grazing needs before taking action.
The crackdown covers various unauthorized structures, including warehouses, private residences, and illegal rest houses. Al-Fajji told Al-Rai that a detailed, multi-phase action plan has been put in place, with the first phase concentrating on clearing land areas currently occupied in violation of state property regulations.
He stressed that the removal operations are being conducted according to a specific timetable to ensure efficiency and comprehensive coverage.
Regarding the issue of the “grazing areas,” Al-Fajji made it clear that “anything violating the law will be removed immediately.” However, he noted that the team will first assess the actual grazing needs and requirements before taking any action to avoid unnecessary disruption.
These intensified efforts reflect the municipality’s commitment to preserving public land and enforcing regulations across all regions.
