Municipal Council approves flagpole site for Diplomatic Suburb

- Approves PIFSS request to reallocate part of the surface parking spaces in the Mubarak Al-Abdullah area to serve the institution.
- Reviews organizational impact on properties in Block 7 in Salmiya
- Refers Municipality request to extend the use of land allocated for kindergartens in Jabriya, Block 7
The Hawalli Governorate Committee of the Municipal Council has approved the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs’ request to cancel the site of a mosque and parking lot within the Diplomatic Suburb (West Mishref) Block 2. The same site will now be allocated to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the construction of a flagpole.
During a meeting chaired by Nasser Al-Azmi, the committee also approved the Public Institution for Social Security’s request to reallocate part of the surface parking spaces in the Mubarak Al-Abdullah area to serve the institution.
The committee reviewed the organizational impact on properties within the administrative and commercial center (1-2), Block 7 in Salmiya, and decided to keep on its agenda the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy’s request to allocate a site for a secondary power substation in Salwa, Block 6, Station No. 2.
Additionally, the committee referred to the executive body in the municipality the request to extend the use of land allocated for kindergartens in Jabriya, Block 7, for further review and action.
