Capital Governor Sheikh Abdullah Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah disclosed that the Mubarakiya Markets reconstruction project embodies the state’s ongoing commitment to revitalizing heritage areas and enhancing the unique tourism and commercial character that defines this historic marketplace.
He emphasized that the development efforts aim to modernize the market’s infrastructure while preserving its cultural identity, ensuring that Mubarakiya continues to serve as a vibrant tourist, economic, and entertainment hub that stimulates commercial activity and attracts visitors from both inside and outside Kuwait, reports Al-Rai daily.
The Governor made these remarks during a field visit to Mubarakiya Markets to inspect the progress of restoration and rebuilding works in the area affected by the previous fire incident.
He stressed the importance of completing the reconstruction within the scheduled timeframe, noting that Mubarakiya stands as a prominent heritage landmark with deep historical and social significance to the Kuwaiti community.
