Mubarak Hospital treated 20 ‘Vascular Deformities’ cases in mere 3 days

The Mubarak Al-Kabeer Hospital, part of the Ministry of Health, announced that it has successfully treated 20 cases of vascular deformities within just three days. These treatments were carried out in the Department of Interventional Radiology and Vascular Surgery.

The Head of the Radiology Departments Council at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Buthaina Al-Kandari, mentioned in a press statement today, Wednesday, that this achievement within just three days, marks a significant advancement in the services provided by the Ministry of Health in Kuwait. She emphasized that vascular malformations are chronic conditions that require long-term follow-up and care, sometimes extending for several years.

Dr. Al-Kandari explained that the patients were examined and treated at the Vascular Anomalies Clinic at Mubarak Al-Kabeer Hospital. She noted that the cases treated included various types and complexities of vascular anomalies, affecting different parts of the body from head to toe.

Regarding the procedure, Dr. Al-Kandari highlighted that the treatment was performed through simple, non-surgical interventions, utilizing catheterization and injections. She also emphasized that all the patients were able to leave the hospital within 24 hours.

Explaining further, Dr. Al-Kandari shared that the Vascular Anomalies Clinic, which was established in 2022, was initiated by the Vascular and Interventional Radiology Unit at Mubarak Hospital.

Dr. Al-Kandari noted that several other specialties, including plastic surgery, pediatric surgery, and others, have since joined the clinic. As a result, numerous cases have been successfully diagnosed, treated, and followed up in this specialized facility.

On the other hand, Dr. Moudi Al-Mutairi, the Head of the Medical Staff at Mubarak Hospital, emphasized the Ministry of Health’s commitment to utilizing all available resources to deliver top-tier medical services that ensure the comfort and safety of patients.

Dr. Al-Mutairi also highlighted the Ministry’s efforts to enhance the quality of services provided by its treatment institutions, aiming to distinguish them for their excellence in healthcare delivery.

Dr. Al-Mutairi emphasized the Ministry of Health’s focus on enhancing competencies and expertise within the health sector. She highlighted the importance of supporting and encouraging professionals while providing them with an optimal work environment.

Importantly, Dr. Al-Mutairi stressed that developing national talent is a key component of the Ministry’s work plan, aiming to achieve excellence in healthcare and ensure better service for patients, ultimately alleviating their pain and suffering.
