MPW deploys rapid response teams as rains test Kuwait roads

The Ministry of Public Works has activated emergency measures to monitor the condition of roads across Kuwait as the country experiences ongoing rainy weather.
In coordination with the Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport, the ministry has deployed rainwater drainage pumps at key locations, with particular focus on critical points and the sides of several tunnels that are prone to water accumulation.

The ministry confirmed that on-ground teams are closely observing developing weather conditions and responding immediately to any reports of water buildup or road disruptions. Officials stressed that preparations for the rainy season were completed in advance and that teams remain stationed across the country for rapid intervention.

Kuwait witnessed periods of heavy rain overnight, accompanied by lightning that illuminated the sky across several areas. The unstable weather comes as the country advances other major infrastructure plans, including efforts to add 14,000 megawatts of electricity production through a balanced mix of energy sources, reports Al-Rai daily.

The Ministry of Public Works reiterated its readiness to address any issues caused by the weather and urged the public to exercise caution while driving during rainfall.
