Mourinho denies any contact with Real Madrid over potential return

. . . rules out immediate comeback amid coaching speculation

Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho, currently in charge of Benfica, has dismissed reports linking him with a possible return to Real Madrid, insisting that no contact has been made by the Spanish giants.

Mourinho, 63, who is among the names reportedly considered by Real Madrid for a managerial change this summer, said: “No one from Real Madrid has spoken to me. I can guarantee that.”

The experienced coach, who previously managed Real Madrid between 2010 and 2013 and guided them to the La Liga title in 2012, added that he is accustomed to such speculation but reiterated that there has been no communication from the club.

He noted that his side had been eliminated by Real Madrid in the Champions League playoff round for the round of 16 last February.

Reports continue to suggest uncertainty over the future of Real Madrid coach Alvaro Arbeloa, as the club heads toward a second consecutive season without major silverware.
