Morocco was crowned champions of the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile after a stunning performance against Argentina, winning 2-0 in the final on Monday.
Yasser Zabiri was the hero of the match, scoring a first-half brace. He opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a spectacular free kick from the edge of the penalty area. Zabiri doubled Morocco’s lead in the 29th minute, converting a left-footed volley from a cross delivered by Othman Maama.
This historic victory makes Morocco the first Arab country to win the U-20 World Cup and the second African nation, after Ghana’s triumph in 2009, to lift the title.
The win is a milestone for Moroccan football, highlighting the nation’s growing prominence on the global stage and inspiring future generations of young players.
