More than 45,000 UK travel permits granted to Kuwaitis

The United Kingdom’s (UK’s) rollout of the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) scheme to Kuwaiti, other GCC and Jordanian nationals reflects our keenness to continue strengthening relations with these countries and maintaining close ties in the region.

In view of this, I am delighted to confirm that 48,239 Kuwaiti nationals obtained an ETA between the scheme’s launch in February, until the end of June 2024. The second highest number of ETA applications were from Kuwait in the GCC, with only Saudis submitting a higher number.

People with an ETA now have the flexibility to make multiple short-term visits to the UK for tourism, business, study or for medical treatment over a two-year period.

For more information on the ETA, including the types of trips it can be used for and information on how to apply, please follow the British Embassy in Kuwait’s social media channels – @ukinkuwait on X and Instagram, or look up the relevant pages of the UK Government’s official website: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-an-electronic-travel-authorisation-eta and https://www.gov.uk/check-uk-visa.
