MOI urges public to avoid rumors after false shrapnel reports

The Ministry of Interior has denied reports circulating in some media outlets and on social media claiming that a house was damaged by falling shrapnel.

In a statement, the ministry said the information is incorrect, and explained the incident happened when construction materials gave way from the same house onto vehicles parked in front due negligence by the contractor during ongoing building work.

The ministry added the incident resulted only in material damage, with no injuries reported.

Ministry officials said during inspection no foreign object or evidence indicated the damage was caused by falling shrapnel, stressing that the claims being circulated are unfounded.

The ministry urged the public to verify information before sharing it and to rely solely on official sources to avoid spreading rumors.
It also reiterated the importance of refraining from filming or sharing videos related to security incidents or accident sites during the current circumstances.
