MOI to resume issuing visas for Ethiopian domestic workers

The Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Major General Ali Al-Adwani, confirmed that Kuwait will soon resume issuing visas for Ethiopian domestic workers in line with regulations and procedures agreed upon by both Kuwait and Ethiopia.
This move, according to Al-Rai daily, is part of efforts to strengthen bilateral ties and implement the bilateral labor agreement previously signed between the two nations.
The announcement came during a meeting held this morning between Major General Al-Adwani and the Ethiopian Ambassador to Kuwait, H.E. Dr. Saeed Mohammed Jibril, during which they discussed matters of mutual interest and explored ways to enhance cooperation and coordination, particularly in labor affairs and security cooperation.
Major General Al-Adwani reaffirmed Kuwait’s commitment to reinforcing constructive relations with Ethiopia, emphasizing that the reopening of visas will serve the mutual interests of both countries and contribute to addressing labor market needs.
For his part, Ambassador Jibril expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Interior for its continuous cooperation and praised the strong diplomatic ties between Ethiopia and Kuwait.
He reiterated his country’s keenness to further develop these relations across various sectors, including labor, security, and development.
