MOI tells ‘Article 8 Kuwaiti women’ to adjust citizenship status by Aug 31

The Ministry of Interior on Sunday emphasized the importance of completing legal procedures to adjust the status of women whose Kuwaiti citizenships were revoked in accordance with Article 8 of the Nationality Law.
In a press statement, the Ministry explained that this move is part of the authorities’ commitment to facilitating the process and ensuring the continuity of benefits granted under the so-called “Kuwaiti transaction.”
The statement reiterates that failure to comply with the status adjustment requirements or to prove seriousness in pursuing the matter within the specified deadline will lead to cancellation of benefits, reports Al-Rai daily.
The Ministry clarified that status amendment does not preclude filing grievances before the Grievance Committee for the Withdrawal, Revocation, and Loss of Kuwaiti Citizenship. It also announced that the final deadline for adjustment and submission of required documentation is August 31, 2025.
To streamline the process, the Ministry revealed plans to launch an electronic platform soon, allowing affected individuals to submit their status adjustment documents and seriousness proofs digitally.
