MOI outlines achievements made during initial two years of 2021-2026 five-year plan

The Ministry of Information has released a comprehensive report on the progress of its strategic plan for the period spanning from April 1, 2021, to March 31, 2023, titled “Ministry of Information in Two Years.” This report outlines the achievements made by the Ministry during the initial two years of its five-year plan (2021-2026), aligning with the objectives of the “Ministry of Information” vision under New Kuwait 2035.

In a press statement, the Ministry emphasized its commitment, under the guidance of Minister of Information and Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Abdul Rahman Al-Mutairi, to the practical and realistic implementation of the strategy. The report serves as a tool for ongoing assessment, providing periodic updates on the progress of initiatives and projects outlined in the operational plans of the Ministry’s various sectors, reports Al-Anba daily.

The report highlighted significant indicators of success in accomplishing the strategy’s goals during the initial two years. It underscored the Ministry’s concerted efforts across all sectors to deliver a comprehensive and advanced media service, reaching all segments of society and supporting its vision of establishing a leading and sustainable media industry with purposeful content.

Key achievements mentioned in the report include a remarkable increase in financial revenue collection by over 68%. The number of commercial advertisements on radio and television experienced substantial growth, with radio advertisements rising by 121.3% and television advertisements by 207.6%.

Digital transformation initiatives and electronic collection services saw notable increases of 153% and 300%, respectively. Construction projects recorded a rise of 56%, with the Ministry completing 21 projects in the (2022-2023) period, including the establishment of four new studios.

The Ministry’s commitment to digital services was highlighted, with the government’s “Sahl” application now offering four services, including electronic publishing licenses and access rights requests. The report also highlighted the expansion of revenue collection services, reaching 12 services in the (2022-2023) period.

The strategic plan emphasized the focus on creating high-quality, purposeful content, particularly in the television sector. This involved a visual identity renewal and enhancing the type and quality of content published on the Ministry’s social media accounts affiliated with the new media sector. The report indicated a subsequent increase in viewership rates for Kuwait TV channels and a rise in the number of followers on social media accounts.

The comprehensive report provided detailed explanations with illustrations, tables, and numerical data, showcasing the results of implementing the strategic plan through annual operational plans across all ministry sectors. Internal systems, including quarterly performance cards, were employed to measure achievements and assess progress toward interim goals for each sector. The report also underscored the strategic plan’s alignment with the “New Kuwait 2035” vision and its capacity to address challenges within the media landscape.
