MOI orders ‘home delivery’ motorbikes off the road

Ban effective daily between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., from June 1 until August 31

The Ministry of Interior has officially declared a temporary ban on the operation of ‘home delivery’ delivery motorcycles during peak daytime hours throughout the summer months, in response to extreme heat conditions. According to the announcement, the restriction will be enforced daily from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., from June 1 until August 31.

This measure applies to all roadways across the country, and is aimed at safeguarding the health and safety of delivery drivers who are particularly vulnerable to heat-related illnesses during periods of intense sun and high temperatures, reports Al-Anba daily.

The Ministry emphasized that this decision comes as part of broader efforts to protect workers from occupational hazards associated with extreme weather. It also affirmed that strict legal and administrative actions will be taken against individuals or companies found violating the directive.

The Ministry called on all delivery service providers and motorcycle couriers to fully adhere to the regulation and adjust their operating hours accordingly to ensure public safety and avoid legal repercussions.
