MOI denies rumors of siren test, urges public to rely on official sources

The Ministry of Interior has denied reports circulating on social media claiming that the General Directorate of Civil Defense will conduct a trial run of its sirens on Wednesday, June 18, 2025.
In a statement, the ministry emphasized the importance of verifying security-related information through official and approved channels only.
The ministry affirmed that any trial operation of civil defense sirens would be announced in advance through formal outlets to ensure transparency and public reassurance, reports Al-Rai daily.
The ministry also confirmed that it closely monitors social media platforms through dedicated teams tasked with tracking and analyzing content to safeguard social stability and counter false narratives. Coordination with relevant authorities is ongoing to address any attempts to spread panic or misinformation.
Reiterating its commitment to public safety, the Ministry of Interior warned that strict legal measures will be taken against individuals who circulate or promote false information.
It urged the public to exercise national responsibility by refraining from engaging with rumors or unreliable sources, affirming that the nation’s security and community well-being are paramount.
