MOI completes TETRA rollout and electronic fingerprint exchange with UAE

The Ministry of Interior announced on Tuesday the completion of the launch of the TETRA wireless communications system and the electronic fingerprint exchange project for deportees, along with the introduction of additional traffic services in cooperation with the UAE Ministry of Interior.
In a press statement, the Ministry explained that Brigadier Abdullah Al-Ateeqi, Head of the Traffic and Operations Affairs Sector, met with members of the Kuwaiti and Emirati technical teams taking part in the eighth meeting to follow up on joint connectivity projects between the two Interior Ministries, reports Al-Rai daily.
The delegation also visited the Ministry’s Operations Room in Subhan, where they were briefed on the latest operational technologies that support security and traffic systems.
The two-day meeting — held yesterday and today — was chaired on the Kuwaiti side by Brigadier General Khaled Al-Adwani, head of the technical team, and on the Emirati side by Brigadier General Abdulaziz Al-Ahmad.
Discussions focused on reviewing progress on previous recommendations and advancing several joint initiatives, including the bilateral connectivity project for supplementary traffic services; the electronic exchange of data and fingerprints of deportees and the TETRA wireless communications linkage system.
The Ministry affirmed its ongoing commitment to enhancing Gulf security cooperation and developing integrated security and traffic systems that elevate service quality and support the shared strategic objectives of GCC countries.
