MOI busts unlicensed warehouse, arrests gang for selling spoiled meat via social media

The Criminal Security Sector of Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate Investigation Department in coordination with the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition, raided an unlicensed warehouse in Shuwaikh which was used to store and distribute spoiled meat unfit for human consumption.

The raid was conducted after a Kuwait citizen complained that some individuals were selling rotten meat via social media.

Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of a group of Syrian nationals found in possession of large quantities of meat of unknown origin that did not meet health standards, reports Al-Jarida daily.

The authorities also discovered frozen meat that had been thawed and sold as fresh, along with spoiled food items showing changes in their natural properties.

It was further revealed that the warehouse was operating without the required health licenses, in clear violation of applicable laws and regulations.

All necessary legal measures were taken against the suspects, and referred to the competent authorities for further action.
