MOI Arrests Individuals for Filming and Circulating Videos that Incite Chaos
Several people were arrested for posting content expressing sympathy for terrorist organizations on their personal accounts.
The Ministry of Interior has announced that the competent security authorities, represented by the Criminal Security Sector, have successfully monitored and arrested a number of individuals involved in serious violations affecting the security and stability of society.
According to the Ministry, those apprehended include individuals who illegally filmed incidents and circulated video clips, actions which contributed to inciting unrest, misleading public opinion, and spreading fear among citizens and residents.
The Ministry further confirmed that the Criminal Security Sector arrested several individuals for publishing content on personal accounts and social media platforms that expressed sympathy with terrorist organizations.
Reaffirming its commitment to maintaining national security, the Ministry stressed that its security services will continue to closely monitor social media platforms and workplaces, and will not hesitate to pursue anyone who violates the law. All necessary legal measures have been initiated against those arrested, and they have been referred to the competent authorities.
The Ministry noted that it had previously issued warnings against engaging in such criminal activities and reiterated that it will not tolerate any attempts to undermine the country’s security.
In its statement, the Ministry urged citizens and residents to rely solely on official state sources for information and to prioritize the national interest by refraining from circulating or reposting unverified videos. It also emphasized the importance of not filming field events or security personnel while they are carrying out their duties, in order to avoid legal consequences and to prevent obstruction of security operations, thereby safeguarding the security and safety of Kuwait.
