MoI approves executive regulations of Foreigners’ Residency Law

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah has issued a ministerial decree approving the executive regulations of Foreigners’ Residency Law No. 2249 of 2025.

In a statement on Sunday, the Ministry of Interior said the move falls within its efforts to modernize the legal framework governing the residency of foreigners in Kuwait and to meet the requirements of the coming phase.

The executive regulations, published in the official gazette, will come into effect one month from the date of publication.

They cover all matters related to entry permits, family and commercial visit visas, as well as residency permits for private-sector workers and domestic workers.

The ministry warned that violations of the residency law will be subject to strict penalties and fines, urging citizens and residents to follow official updates that will be announced in the coming weeks.
