MoH sets new rules for dentistry in private medical centers

The Licensing Department of the Ministry of Health has issued new regulations governing the practice of dentistry in private health centers.

According to the conditions, currently licensed centers that include dental services may continue operating under specific restrictions.

The guidelines limit the number of dentists in these centers to a maximum of three full-time practitioners — or an equivalent mix of part-time dentists working outside official hours, with two part-time dentists counted as one full-timer. This aligns with the staffing limits already applied to private dental clinics, reports Al-Anba daily.

One of the full-time dentists must be a Kuwaiti citizen. Additionally, opening new dental clinics or offering dental services within newly established human medicine centers is now prohibited.

The Ministry has given all affected centers a four-month deadline to comply with these new requirements. Failure to meet the conditions will result in the revocation of the center’s dental activity license.
