MoH ‘punishes’ healthcare facilities for violations of guidelines

The Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi, has issued a decision to refer 34 private healthcare facilities to the Medical Responsibility Authority accusing them of committing, what the ministry called, ‘serious violations of the regulations and guidelines on medical advertising’.

The inspection teams during the holy month of Ramadan identified several advertisements promoting inaccurate information, violating professional standards, and contradicting Ministerial Decision No. 87 of 2023, which regulates medical advertisements in the private sector.

Some advertisements also included indecent images that offended public decency, which constitutes an unacceptable violation that warrants accountability and legal action.

These violations involved various types of healthcare facilities, including clinics, medical centers, laboratories and dental centers, which failed in their professional and ethical responsibilities. Legal measures have been taken against them accordingly.

The Ministry of Health emphasized that any violation or breach of the approved regulations and guidelines will result in immediate legal action without leniency, as part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to ensure a safe health environment and enhance the quality and efficiency of healthcare services in Kuwait according to the highest professional standards.
