MOH launches KNPHS awareness campaign at The Avenues Mall

Awareness campaign targets citizens and residents on the crucial role in shaping Kuwait’s future health planning and improving overall healthcare services.

The Ministry of Health launched the first awareness campaign for the Kuwait National Population Health Survey (KNPHS) today at The Avenues Mall, aiming to raise health awareness and educate citizens and residents about the project’s significance in shaping future health planning.

The survey forms a key part of Kuwait’s development plan and is being implemented under the mandate of the Council of Ministers, with the support of the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development, reports Al-Rai daily.

Its objectives include measuring the population’s health status and trends, assessing the quality and efficiency of health services, supporting evidence-based health planning, and enhancing disease surveillance and analysis of health risk factors.

The KNPHS survey involves a field study targeting 12,000 persons from 8,000 families, automatically selected to represent all segments of society.

Heads of households are notified through the “Sahel” or “My Identity” apps to approve participation. Specialized teams from the Ministry of Health then conduct the survey and collect health data using advanced electronic protection technologies, ensuring strict confidentiality of information of the participants.

The survey’s outcomes will contribute to improving healthcare quality, elevating the standard of living in Kuwait, supporting health planning to deliver advanced services, and achieving Kuwait’s vision for sustainable development while safeguarding the health of future generations.
