MOH launches 10th annual blood donation drive, honors invasion martyrs

The Ministry of Health has announced the launch of its 10th annual national blood donation campaign, set to begin Thursday, July 31, at the Central Blood Bank in Jabriya and continue until August 2. The campaign is held under the patronage of Health Minister Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi.

This year’s drive, according to news reports, carries special significance as it coincides with the 35th anniversary of the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, and serves both as a tribute to the martyrs and a call to strengthen national unity.

Dr. Reem Al-Radhwan, Director of Blood Transfusion Services, said the event will feature broad participation of key state institutions including the Ministries of Defense and Interior, the National Guard, civil society organizations, and the private sector, all coming together to support the life-saving effort.

The Ministry emphasized the importance of voluntary blood donation in ensuring a stable supply for hospitals and emergency needs, and called on citizens and residents to participate generously.
