MoH issues 50 violations on salons, health institutes
Kuwait’s Ministry of Health announced Tuesday that 50 violations were issued against salons and health institutes for failing to comply with approved health regulations during joint inspection campaigns carried out across the country’s governorates.
Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Dr. Almunther Al-Hasawi said the inspections focused on verifying compliance with infection-control standards, cleaning, disinfection and sterilization procedures, as well as reviewing workers’ health requirements and fitness certificates to ensure a safe environment for clients.
He added that the campaigns aim to promote adherence to best health and preventive practices, reduce the risk of disease transmission, and ensure facilities comply with regulations governing the use of equipment subject to special health requirements.
Meanwhile, Director of Public Health and head of the supervisory committee Dr. Mona Al-Khabbaz said the main committee overseeing salons and health institutes operates through six subcommittees comprising representatives from the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Kuwait Municipality, covering all governorates to enhance field oversight and improve compliance with health standards.
Al-Khabbaz affirmed that inspection teams will continue conducting regular field visits across the country, stressing that the ministry will take a firm stance against violations that could affect public health and safety, while urging owners of salons and health institutes to comply with approved regulations and maintain service quality.
