MOH holds advanced training course for nursing officers

The Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the Oman College of Science, has organized a specialized training course to prepare and qualify training officers from the nursing sector, as part of a broader agreement between the two institutions.

Held under the framework of a memorandum of understanding, the 10-day program welcomed 30 male and female nurses from the training and development departments of various hospitals across Kuwait.

The initiative, according to Al-Rai daily, is aimed at improving the clinical, educational, and leadership competencies of nursing professionals tasked with training roles in their respective institutions.

Dr. Iman Al-Awadhi, Director of the Nursing Services Department, stated that the course combined theoretical lectures and hands-on practical training designed to enhance participants’ abilities in identifying the training needs of their teams, choosing suitable educational strategies, and implementing evidence-based practices.

Al-Awadhi emphasized that the program equips nurses with the tools needed to train large groups effectively in their workplaces, thereby supporting the Ministry’s objective of continuous professional development in healthcare delivery.

She also noted that this marks the third collaborative course with the Oman College of Health Sciences this year, following successful training sessions in premature and newborn care, as well as in accident and emergency nursing.

The Ministry’s focus on capacity building and international academic cooperation highlights Kuwait’s commitment to raising the standards of nursing education and healthcare services throughout the country.
