
The Minister of Health, Ahmad Al-Awadhi, has unveiled a significant reduction in prices for 544 medicines and medical products, with cuts reaching as high as 78.5%.
This initiative is part of the Ministry’s efforts to make healthcare more affordable and sustainable.
The Ministry released new price quotations for 144 key drugs, which will now be sold at the lowest rates across the Gulf region, according to news reports.
This move underscores Kuwait’s commitment to providing essential medicines at reasonable prices while promoting economic sustainability within the healthcare sector.
The price adjustments cover critical medicines used to treat cancer, diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol, asthma, arthritis, as well as skin and colon diseases.
The antibiotics are also included in the list, ensuring broad access to necessary treatments.
These reductions are aligned with a national policy aimed at ongoing drug price reviews to enhance economic efficiency in the health sector.
The Ministry emphasized its dedication to ensuring that both citizens and residents can access affordable medications.
