MOH confirms strategic stockpile, ready for any emergency

So far, no abnormal levels of radiation have been detected anywhere in Kuwait -- Dr. Munther Al-Hasawi

Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Affairs, Dr. Munther Al-Hasawi, affirmed that the Ministry of Health has a comprehensive strategic reserve of medicines and medical supplies sufficient to meet the country’s needs in the event of any emergency.

In an interview aired on Kuwait TV, Dr. Al-Hasawi explained that the Ministry operates an integrated radiation monitoring system, consisting of both fixed and mobile stations that cover the entire country—from north to south. These stations are monitored around the clock by highly trained national staff specialized in nuclear and radiation safety.

He further stated that the Ministry also runs a specialized laboratory for radiometric analysis, which regularly monitors the safety of seawater, soil, and air. “So far, no abnormal levels of radiation have been detected anywhere in Kuwait,” he reassured the public.

Dr. Al-Hasawi emphasized that the Ministry works in continuous coordination with all relevant government agencies, particularly those responsible for emergency response and disaster management. Regular inter-agency meetings are held to facilitate the exchange of data and ensure rapid communication when needed.
