MOE introduces flexible school hours, fingerprint attendance mandatory

Starting today, the Ministry of Education will implement an experimental mechanism for flexible school hours across all general education, Arab private, religious education, and special education schools. The Ministry announced that kindergartens and special education schools will operate for 5 hours per day, while other stages will have a 6-hour schedule, inclusive of a 45-minute grace period.

In addition to the new schedule, responsible sources disclosed to Al-Rai that the Ministry will issue a bulletin mandating fingerprint registration for all employees, including teachers and administrators. Failure to comply within a week will result in salary suspension without prior notice.

The Ministry emphasized that all school administrations must ensure fingerprint registration for their employees, with legal measures to stop salary disbursement for non-compliant individuals. It urged all teachers and administrators to register their fingerprints promptly to avoid legal repercussions, stressing the mandatory implementation of this measure for all employees without exceptions.
