Modi welcomes astronaut Shukla after historic space mission

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended a heartfelt welcome to Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, the Indian astronaut who successfully completed a landmark mission aboard the International Space Station (ISS).

In a message shared on social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi lauded Shukla’s dedication, courage, and pioneering spirit, hailing the mission as a moment of national pride and a powerful inspiration for future generations.

“I join the nation in welcoming Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla as he returns to Earth from his historic mission to space. As India’s first astronaut to have visited the International Space Station, he has inspired a billion dreams through his dedication, courage, and pioneering spirit. It marks another milestone towards our own Human Space Flight Mission – Gaganyaan,” the Prime Minister wrote.

Shukla’s achievement is being celebrated across the country as a monumental step forward for India’s ambitions in human space exploration, especially as preparations continue for the upcoming Gaganyaan mission, India’s first crewed orbital flight.
