Ministry’s new juvenile care home complex delayed

The opening of the new juvenile care home complex building in Sulaibiya by Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Child Affairs, Sheikh Firas Al-Malik, was a milestone event four months ago.

However, the operation of the facility is yet to begin. The delay stems from outstanding technical observations that the Ministry of Works has not completed addressing, reports Al-Jarida daily.

Despite this setback, the Ministry of Social Affairs is actively working on resolving these issues. The planning, administrative development, and social care sectors within the ministry are diligently addressing the recorded notes on the building.

Once rectified, the ministry will assume responsibility, facilitating the gradual transfer of male inmates from the Sulaibikhat complex to the new facility. Female inmates will remain at the current complex.
