Ministry warns of power outages in industrial, agricultural zones

The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy may implement rotating power cuts of up to three hours due to increased electrical loads and ongoing maintenance in preparation for summer.

The affected areas where power outages will occur include agricultural zones (Rawdatayn, Wafra, and Abdali) and industrial zones (Mina Abdullah, Subhan, Al-Rai, and Shuwaikh Industrial).

The Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy announced on Wednesday that it may have to implement rotating power cuts in certain agricultural and industrial areas, Al Qabas newspaper reported.

In a statement, the ministry attributed the power outage to increased electrical loads, along with ongoing maintenance work on some power generation units in preparation for full operation during the summer. This outage is being implemented to ensure the stability of the country’s electrical system.

The ministry explained that the affected areas include agricultural zones (Rawdatayn, Wafra, and Abdali) and industrial zones (Mina Abdullah, Subhan, Al-Rai, and Shuwaikh Industrial).

It noted that in the event of a power outage, the duration would not exceed three hours. The ministry added that electrical loads are being continuously monitored and expressed its appreciation to customers for their cooperation during the outage.
