Ministry sets three new rules for labor subsidies to entrepreneurs

Labor support controls require a bank statement, annual budget, and company account details for electronic platforms and social media, plus any other documents.

The license period will increase from three to four years, allowing multiple similar or complementary activities under the same license.

Licensees must display the license number on company websites and social media accounts, and all commercial transactions must be done through electronic payment methods.

Engineer Omar Al-Omar, the Minister of Trade and Industry and the Minister of State for Communications Affairs, issued a decision establishing new guidelines for distributing employment support to entrepreneurs. This decision also regulates business activities and restructures micro and private enterprises, according to Al Rai newspaper.

The controls for disbursing labor support include providing a bank statement of the licensed company, an annual budget, and the accounts of the company’s electronic platforms and social media, in addition to any other documents specified by the minister or his authorized representative. The calculation of the first year begins from the date of license issuance.

The decision stipulates the regulation of the conditions for obtaining commercial licenses through the government’s Sahel Business application or the Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s website, with the addition of the email option approved by the Public Authority for Civil Information instead of the postal box. This aims to facilitate the procedures for issuing licenses to entrepreneurs and owners of these commercial activities.

It also stipulated that the license period should be increased from three to four years, while allowing the addition of more than one activity within the same license, provided that the activities are similar or complementary to the commercial license.

The decision required licensees to disclose the license number on the accounts dedicated to practicing activity on the company’s websites and social media platforms, and that all commercial transactions of companies be carried out through electronic payment methods only.
