Ministry seeks to disbar lawyer, reinforce public trust

The Ministry of Social Affairs has formally requested the Kuwait Lawyers Association to remove a lawyer from its registry after he was convicted and sentenced to six months in prison by the Misdemeanor Court of Cassation.

The final ruling found him guilty of fraud, misuse of telephone communications, and other legal violations. Audio recordings from his court appearance have recently surfaced online, drawing public attention to the case, reports Al-Jarida daily.

According to informed sources, the Ministry has instructed the KLA to proceed with all necessary legal actions against the convicted lawyer.

This includes referring the matter to the Lawyers Disciplinary Committee and confirming the request to permanently strike his name from the list of practicing lawyers due to his failure to meet the legal and professional requirements for registration.

The Ministry emphasized the importance of the Association’s role in safeguarding the integrity of the legal profession. It called for strict adherence to ethical and professional standards and urged action against anyone who undermines the credibility and reputation of the legal field.

By moving to disbar the lawyer, the Ministry seeks to reinforce public trust in the legal system and ensure that only qualified individuals committed to the profession’s values remain in practice.
