Ministry seeks private sector partnerships to reduce costs at Juvenile Care Complex

The Ministry of Social Affairs is considering transferring the new Juvenile Care Complex in Sulaibiya to the Public-Private Partnership Projects Authority for third-party investment.

This move aims to save the ministry 3 million dinars annually in operational and maintenance costs, reports Al-Jarida daily. The tender will focus on operational management, including security, cleaning, landscaping, and educational activities, while administrative duties will remain with the ministry.

If the proposal passes the evaluation, it will be presented to the Higher Committee for approval, followed by a feasibility study, tendering process, and selection of an investor.

The ministry is also exploring other partnerships with the private sector to enhance revenue and improve services, such as elderly care and community development projects.

The complex spans 56,100 square meters, with 35,000 dedicated to buildings, making it financially challenging for the ministry to manage independently.
