Ministry rebuts social media allegations, affirms Al-Huwailah’s full authority

. . . denies claims of power withdrawal, moves to prosecute misinformation

The Ministry of Social Affairs has firmly rejected claims circulating on social media alleging that the powers of the Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah, have been withdrawn, stressing that the reports are false and devoid of any constitutional or administrative basis.

In an official press statement, the ministry affirmed that the minister continues to exercise all her duties and powers in full compliance with the applicable constitutional and legal frameworks. It urged the public to exercise accuracy and responsibility when sharing information and to rely exclusively on official and accredited sources, reports Al-Rai daily.

The ministry clarified that the issues cited in the circulating claims fall outside its institutional mandate. It explained that the Farmers Union is administratively affiliated with the Public Authority for Manpower, while price control falls under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and removal and enforcement activities are carried out by Kuwait Municipality.

The statement further confirmed that the ministry has initiated the necessary legal measures against those responsible for spreading the misinformation, including the filing of an official report with the Public Prosecution.

It underscored that professional ethics and national responsibility must prevail in the dissemination of news, warning against the spread of rumors that undermine public trust.
