Ministry pushes forward with Fourth Ring Road upgrades

Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, the Minister of Public Works,confirmed that ministry teams will continue extensive maintenance on the Fourth Ring Road under new contracts.
She emphasized the ministry’s commitment to road maintenance across all regions, ensuring quality and adherence to international standards for a modern infrastructure, Al Qabas newspaper reported.
In a press statement regarding the extensive maintenance work on the Fourth Ring Road, Al-Mashaan, said the concerned teams inspected the affected areas before initiating necessary repairs. Maintenance work will begin in the most affected areas first, followed by less affected ones, under the supervision and oversight of ministry teams.
She added that teams are deployed across the country to monitor and address road network issues, ensuring timely intervention for any problems on internal roads and public highways. She emphasized the ministry’s commitment to providing the best services through its various specialized sectors.
She explained that road maintenance projects are part of the ministry’s strategic plan to enhance the road network, creating a safe and sustainable environment for citizens and residents in line with urban development and growing transportation needs.
She stressed the ministry’s strong commitment to overseeing all stages of implementation—from design to completion—while adhering to internationally recognized quality standards and technical specifications to ensure roads meet the highest levels of performance and durability.
Al-Mashaan stated that her directives to expedite maintenance work were based on recommendations from His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Al-Abdullah, reflecting the government’s commitment to maintaining and repairing the country’s infrastructure. She emphasized that infrastructure is the cornerstone of any economic vision.
She underscored the need for coordination to resolve pending road maintenance issues, urging implementing companies to complete all work promptly while ensuring quality and efficiency in line with approved technical specifications and the agreed timeline.
She highlighted that road maintenance and repairs are a top priority for the country’s political leadership, expressing pride in the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled. She acknowledged their support for road maintenance projects, which will serve as a key pillar of advanced infrastructure under the New Kuwait 2035 plan.
For his part, Deputy Supervisor of the Fourth Ring Road Maintenance Project, Eng. Abdullah Al-Salem, stated that the work involves laying a polymer-enhanced asphalt layer covering an area of 3,300 square meters.
Al-Salem urged road users to stay updated through the General Traffic Department regarding road closures to avoid congestion. He also called on residents to remain patient and cooperate with the relevant authorities to ensure timely completion of the maintenance work.
